Orthomol® Osteo

Why specifically Orthomol® Osteo?

The diet of a large part of society is not properly balanced which can cause abnormalities in achieving proper bone mineralization. Long-term deficiencies in calcium and vitamin D in daily diet are the cause for taking dietary supplements.

A normal diet often fails to meet this need.  In order to guarantee a sufficient supply for the bone mineralization a specific micronutrient therapy is required.

Orthomol® Osteo provides the combination of vitamins and trace elements required by the system.

Orthomol® Osteo contains important micronutrients for the bones.

Orthomol® Osteo contains vitamin D and calcium for the maintenance of normal bones.

  • Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption/utilization of calcium.
  • Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones.
  • Vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin D, as well as zinc and manganese, contribute to the maintenance of normal bones.
  • Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones.

How should Orthomol® Osteo be taken?

Dissolve the contents of one packet (= daily serving) in approx. 150-200 ml of non-carbonated water or fruit juice every day and take it with or after a meal.

How long should Orthomol® Osteo be taken?

Micronutrients are needed every day; regular use on a long-term basis is therefore recommended.

What must be observed?

  • Orthomol® Osteo contains readily available carbohydrates, use only with careful metabolism control in the case of disturbances of glucose tolerance.
  • Orthomol® Osteo contains an increased amount of potassium (approx. 1.2 g corresponding to 30 mEq per daily serving). Therefore do not use this dietary food in case of a severe renal dysfunction. The potassium amount contained in Orthomol® Osteo does not completely cover the normal daily requirements. Additional potassium is being supplied by normal diet. Orthomol® Osteo contains vitamin K (200μg per daily serving) and can therefore reduce the anticoagulant effect of coumarin derivatives (e.g. Marcumar). If you use those pharmaceuticals please consult your doctor prior to taking Orthomol® Osteo. It may be necessary to readjust the anticoagulant dosage based on the Quick’s value. If you take digitalis drugs at the same time, please consider that Orthomol® Osteo contains approx. 1.2 g (30 mEq) of potassium.
  • The recommended daily serving should not be exceeded.
  • Food supplements are not a replacement for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Why micronutrients to protect bones and prevent osteoporosis?

Vitamins, minerals, trace elements – these are the constituents of life and they contribute towards developing and protecting the organism. More than 40 micronutrients are necessary to ensure that the metabolism functions properly.

As some of these micronutrients cannot be provided by our body – or only to a very limited extent –

they must be ingested through food.

In addition, the need for micronutrients can be higher in certain phases in life, for example, and these possibly cannot be obtained via a modern diet.

Optimal nutrition is one of the most important determinants of healthier aging, reducing the risk of disability, maintaining mental and physical functions, and thus preserving and ensuring a better quality of life. Dietary intake and nutrient absorption decline with age, thus increasing the risk of malnutrition, morbidity and mortality.

Diet of large part of society is not properly balanced which can cause abnormalities in achieving proper bone mineralization. Long-term deficiencies in calcium and vitamin D in daily diet are the cause for taking dietary supplements. Unfortunately, some preparations on the market do not have adequate storage. It happens that these preparations are poorly absorbed and the amount of active compound is too low. Changes in the nutritional regimen are required already during childhood because nutritional mistakes are the main cause of diet-related diseases in adulthood.
